SPECIAL GUEST : Evanstonian singer-songwriter JEFF LIBMAN. Despite years performing in Chicago, this is his first time taking the stage at the Green Mill. His music grows out of the singer-songwriter tradition of the 1970s, infusing bittersweet melodies with poignant lyrics. When he isn’t performing, he teaches English at Truman College in Chicago, where he’s worked with immigrants and refugees for nearly 25 years. Prior to that he coordinated the resettlement of Tibetan refugees to Chicago. In addition to his book, An Immigrant Class:Oral Histories from Chicago’s Newest Immigrants, he’s written for Chicago Public Radio and the Chicago Tribune.
Plus the music of Steven Hashimoto (electric bass), Carter Luke (piano), and Heath Chappell (drums).
