New Music at the Green Mill this Sunday, May 20, at 2:00 pm. The program features a world premiere piece by local composer Amos Gillespie and his quartet, music by more Chicago composers George Flynn, Frank Abbinanti, and a piece based on the legend of the Phoenix by Robert Maggio. Amy Wurtz will be playing music by Joan Tower and Alex Shapiro in a trio with Alyson Berger, cello, and Kate Carter, violin, along with a dramatic piano solo based on the life of abolitionist John Brown.
